Dear Oxonian, The Russian Society has been hosting a diverse range of events, supporting Russian students and promoting Russian culture within the University and the local community since its foundation by Prince Felix Yusupov in 1909. In October of this year, 2009, we will be celebrating the Society’s 100th anniversary. We would love to hear from anyone interested in getting involved to make it really special – be they Russian, Russian speaking, members of the society or simply anyone with the desire to take part! The 90th anniversary celebrations were highly successful, with contributions from a number of alumni and other parties, and we hope to be able to repeat this success with your help. As part of the anniversary, we are compiling a book about the history of Russians in Oxford. Obviously we want this to be as comprehensive an account as possible, and so any information that can be contributed would be extremely gratefully received.
